William Bullock, Bradford

William Bullock was born in 1791 and died in 1855. He was a member of the large Bullock family of clockmakers who operated in many towns in the north and west Wiltshire area over many years and was a son of Zephaniah Bullock, a clockmaker from Box.

The case, certainly top of the range in terms of West Country cases  (look at the Corinthian capitals in the hood and the matching ones alongside the trunk door)  is in excellent condition and a really nice colour.

The fully painted dial  centre is relatively rare and the whole 13" dial is deeply coloured. There is a rocking ship automaton in the arch.

The eight day movement strikes the hours on a bell.

The clock is 87" tall
