William Bullock, Bradford
William Bullock was born in 1791 and died in 1855. He was a member of the large Bullock family of clockmakers who operated in many towns in the north and west Wiltshire area over many years and was a son of Zephaniah Bullock, a clockmaker from Box.
This clock is in a traditional mahogany “West Country” style case and is 88″ (2.23m) tall, with characteristic wavy edge hood door and black fluted columns to the hood. The painted dial is 13″ wide and has seconds calendar, and a moonphase in the arch. The movement is of eight day duration and strikes the hours on a bell
