John Pickett, Marlborough
John Pickett of Marlborough St. Peter was listed as a watchmaker in 1780 and by 1803 was listed as a clockmaker. He features in the Clockmakers Company records between 1790 and 1795. In 1822 he was working in the High Street and died in 1843 at the age of 92.
This is a handsome, light oak thirty hour longcase clock. The case has a long trunk door, the hood with side windows, integral columns and a small well shaped caddy. The 11" silvered dial is engraved with floral designs and and eagle.
