Henry Brownlee West, Devizes

Henry Brownlee West moved to Devizes from High Wycombe and established a business at 13 Maryport Street in 1876. Directories for 1880 and 1885 listed him as a Watch and Clockmaker. At the time of the 1901 census he lived at Shanes Castle, in 1907 at 2, Ormond Villas, London Road and by 1918 at “Avalon” Bath Road, Rowde. One of his daughters married the watchmaker Walter Buckeridge of Calne.

A dial clock with a 12″ dial and a light mahogany case and a good quality eight day fusee movement.
