grandfather clock dial, Abraham Vincent, Bath

Abraham Vincent, Bath:  This antique clock is signed Abraham Vincent who was born in Bath in 1792 and died there in 1852. He is listed as working as a watchmaker at 5, Cleveland Terrace from 1837. This pretty clock has a mahogany case which is of typical "West Country" style. It features turned columns to the hood and inlaid stringing. The painted dial has a fox hunting scene in the arch and there is a subsidary seconds dial and calendar feature. The eight day movement strikes the hours on a bell. The height is 6' 8" tall (80").
