John Stratton, Devizes: John Stratton is listed as working in the Market Place in Devizes in 1830. The dial of this antique clock is silvered and beautifully engraved with an eagle and “Tempus Fugit” and incorporates a calendar. The eight-day movement strikes the hour on a bell. The rich coloured mahogany case has a swan neck pediment and fluted columns to the hood. Overall height 86” (7' 2").
