William Lane, Calstone William Lane is listed as working in Calstone near
Calne around 1750, and he died in 1787. This clock is single - handed with a 10"
brass dial which includes a calendar feature. The calendar is a ringed circular
aperture surrounded by foliage engraving upon the matted dial centre. The birdcage
movement is of thirty hour duration, and the hours are struck on a bell. The oak
case is later than the clock but is of the correct style. Overall height 6' 4". Price £1950 Return to top |
