J
Juler, Norfolk:
This antique clock was made in North Walsham in Norfolk in about 1785 by the Juler
family, who worked as clock-makers in East Anglia throughout the 18th and 19th
centuries. It was probably made by J Juler. The Wilson dial has typical gold gesso
decoration in the corners and the arch, where there is also a floral motif. There
is a good quality five-pillar movement which strikes the hour on a bell. The oak
case is 7'1" tall (85"). |
