Carter, Salisbury: This antique clock was made by William Carter of Minster
Street, Salisbury, in about 1840. Fitted in an oak case, the 12-inch painted dial
bears the signatue "Carter, Salisbury" and has a subsidiary seconds
dial and also a calendar feature. The hood has brass capitals on the columns,
and is surmounted by a swan neck pediment with a brass ball finial. The eight
